PERSONALITY: Irene likes fire.  She is attracted to natural bright lights and is easily fooled by creatures that carry them.  She is quick to anger but also has dangerous mood swings where she goes into a tiny circle of depression.  One she's out of it though, she's the brightest, most alive and cheerful thing ever.  Quick temper, feisty and full of spirit.  She loves to use magic every day for boring stuff and does it sometimes in class if the subject or professor teaching it gets boring.  She just likes to use magic a lot.

LIKES: Bright things, stars, the moon and sun, natural light, suprises

DISLIKES: dark rooms, dead things, being neglected, being ignored, when people say she's a spoiled brat but she isn't, water, rain, floods, rivers

FEARS: Dying, dark rooms, floods, boats, storms

Irene was born to wealthy family as the first child.  She was pampered a lot of her childhood life, but protected from the real world until a flood introduced her to it the hard way.  She feared water, thinking it would “put her flame out,” her flame meaning her life.  She has always loved the brightness and life of flames and the way nobody can fully put them out.  She has been called many names in her life, none of them pleasant.  She was taken into an orphanage after the flood killed her father(the wizard) and her mother disappeared.  On Irene’s tenth birthday, the cook had a soft spot for her, so she fixed her a birthday cake with some frosting and candles while nobody was looking and told her to make her wish.  When she did, the candles promptly exploded, ruining the cake and causing hours of cleaning up frosting and hiding burn marks for Irene.  She’d had no idea what had happened to her, as she grew up with muggles and was never told.  Near her eleventh birthday, Irene decided to build a house out of twigs and sticks, and it went quite well until the rain came.  It washed away her mini house and left a mark upon Irene’s soul.  She realized that that was what had happened to her mother and father and their big, beautiful house.  Irene just sat down on the ground and stared at the small current of rain, sweeping through the miniature city.  She was found by one of the orphanage directors during a routine check, and was immediately brought back inside to be looked at and checked for illness.  From then on, she dropped into trances occasionally, her eyes filling with tears sometimes while she sat there, out of it.  A wizard happened to notice her one time when she zoned out while doing her chores for the week, which was shopping.  He asked her to come to Hogwarts, and promised she would be free to leave should she want to.  Once there, Irene made many friends, and was happy that her fire had not been extinguished, only half-drowned for a little while.  Irene has no OWLs and no NEWTs, and is a fairly good student at Hogwarts, but not a genius or anything like that.
