McGee, Matthew

Abilities: agility, stealth and nearly cat-like grace.
Wand: sycamore with phoenix feather core, eleven and three quarter inches, hard.
Patronous: death's head moth.
Specialty: COMC.
Weakness: Transfiguration.

Personality Matthew is an oddball. He lies a lot, yes he does.
Likes: Matthew likes catching moths and small insects, and pinning them up for display. Let him run across plains picking mountain flowers, he’s happy.
Dislikes: Small, closed spaces are definitely not Matthew’s favourite; classrooms included, when filled with people.
Fears: Nightmares. Cages.

Matthew was born in Raleigh one cold winter’s night, when snow fell in a tempest and caught in piles of white. His parents were purebloods, but a pair already broken up; father once a proud Slytherin, now lost at the bottom of a bottle, mother a kind Ravenclaw, suddenly bitter and wronged. Matthew wouldn’t stay with them long, but be shipped off to England before he could talk, to stay with his Auntie and Uncle. His sister Olivia, a sorry kid of only three years, would be so fortunate to stay behind. For a long while, Matthew wouldn’t even know he had a sister.

And Auntie and Uncle were nice, much nicer than his parents ever would have been. As far as anyone was concerned, Matthew was their son even if he was the exact picture of his biological father; the way he was raised, the way he spoke, no one could tell that he never belonged in London, just as he never really belonged at Hogwarts. The magic quill placed him in a school of witchcraft and wizardry in the States, but Auntie made a request for transfer. Matt never got close to the States, nor would any time soon.

Matthew tried to be good at school; he kept high grades, always said please and thank you. Got in trouble sometimes, but usually managed to sneak away before getting caught. Always felt trapped behind those walls; hated staying in during the holidays. Started his fourth year, clueless of how it would change him.

Matt's suffered from nightmares for as long as he can remember. But Auntie didn't like him talking about them, so eventually he stopped.
