A Silent Night In The Common Room [Jett, OPEN]

Aurelia sat by the fire and opened a book, and started reading. It was a simple book about DADA, talking about spells she already learned. She stopped reading for a moment, hearing a sound that didn't sound like the normal stick scratching on the windows. It sounded like a creak. Aurelia concluded that the sound was coming from downstairs and started reading again. Then, she heard the door open and footsteps coming towards her.

Jett was dead on his feet. His eyes burned, needing rest. Slow, deliberate steps were all he was capable of taking at the moment as he made his way up the Ravenclaw tower. He had somehow managed to spend five hours with his eyes glued to a book in the library. He hardly remembered blinking, let alone taking any breaks.

As he trudged into the common room he fully intended to slump into the first chair he saw. His gaze, however, fell first onto a girl sitting alone by the fire. She had a book in her hands and her soft brown hair fell across her chest in loose waves. Jett gave her a beaming smile, letting his instinctive charm take over.

He was so exhausted that he couldn't hold back his veela aura and instead let it do what it may. If she was one of those girls affected by it, so be it. If not, well that would be better, but Jett was too tired to try to reign it in.

"Good evening," he called over to her as he made his way to the fire himself. "Lovely night to warm up by the fire, isn't it?" His green eyes sparkled as he looked at her, taking in the subject of the book she was holding.

Alex woke up, hearing the sound of voices. She had fallen asleep reading a book, sitting in a chair facing the corner, so she figured that the - two?- people she heard didn't know she was there. She quietly closed the book and shifted so that her legs were under her, and craned her neck so that she could listen to what they were saying better. Alex didn't want to let the people know she was there until she knew who they were - after several... pranks... on Alex recently, she wasn't feeling very sociable.

As she craned her neck to listen, the book slid from her lap and landed with a thud on the floor. She groaned and bent to pick it up, then stood up and walked around her chair, looking at the older two people guiltily. "Sorry," she said, looking down at the floor.

"Oh, it's okay. My name is Aurelia." She placed the book she was reading on the armchair. "Good evening to both of you." Aurelia put her long brown hair into a ponytail.
 
Aurelia started to feel weary, feeling like she was about to fall asleep. Somehow, after plenty of classes, she managed to keep her eyes open and locked on that book for a while. "Why, yes. It's pretty cold outside. You'll need a jacket if you don't want to freeze.", she said to the boy. She chuckled at her own statement.
 
The boy looked slighty older than her. Aurelia looked at him, somehow not noticing he was a veela. The girl, however, looked younger than her, and seemed to be listening to the boy and Aurelia's conversation. "So, how are both of you?"

As the girl by the fire was about to answer a thud came from the corner of the room. A younger girl popped out from in front of the chair and mumbled a hasty apology. Jett smiled at her to let her know it was no bother as the other girl introduced herself.

"What a beautiful name, Aurelia. It suits you." He motioned to a third chair by the fire and looked back to the other girl. "Would you care to join us? There is plenty of room over. I'm Jett, by the way."

His eyes shone in the fire light, sparks dancing in their green depths. Usually he could have been more talkative, complimented each girl more and generally been the charming fool he was. Tonight, though, his tired body only wanted to relax and enjoy the quiet company of the two girls without too much effort.

Alex nodded and went to sit down, trying to hide a smile. She had no idea why, but all of a sudden, Alex felt super smiley. And she wanted to giggle as well. Behind her back, she pinched her arm, trying to straighten her face. "My name's Alex, nice to meet you two," she said, still feeling - and sounding - guilty for being caught.
