Jackson followed the girl out of the classroom. "Hey, er, Brazell, was it?" She seemed nice. And if they were supposed to have dates for the Yule Ball...

Alex turned around, and in doing so, dropped her books. She scooped down to pick them up, and hoped that Jackson wasn't too confused about what she was doing, since...well.... since he couldn't see. Thankful that he couldn't see her blush, she picked up the last book - her Charms book - and stood up. "Yes," she said smiling. "Alexandra. Alex."

Jackson heard her books hit the ground, but he couldn't really help her pick them up...
"So, er, Alex, the um, the Yule B-ball's coming up soon, and I uh, I was wondering if you mmmight want to go with me?" Argh, why was he stuttering? He was just asking a girl from class to a school dance! He didn't even hardly know her, there was no reason to be nervous! The worst thing that could happen is she says no!

Alex was surprised at Jackson's question, and as bad as this made her feel, was glad that he couldn't see her blush race up her cheeks and her ears. She hadn't expected the question at all - they had just met, so she was confused as to why he was asking her, of all people. But seeing as she had no one to go with, and Alex did desperately want to go, and didn't think she could stand the shame of going alone, she decided to accept.

She nodded her acceptance, before remembering once more that she'd have to voice her agreement. It was going to take some getting used to, this... situation. "Yes," she said. She hoped she didn't sound too eager or too reluctant. Jackson seemed like a nice boy, and she would like to know him better. All that had surprised her was the speed with which he had tried to ask her out. "Yes," she said. "I'd like to go with you, Jackson."

"Ace." Jackson grinned. Now what? "So, er, I'll meet you there, I guess?" He ran a hand through his hair, probably making it stick up funny...

Alex nodded, kind of disappointed. She had expected Jackson to say more, even if it was something as trivial as him just saying he was glad she would go with him. "Yup, I guess I'll see you there," she said, trying not to let this disappointment show in her voice. With a giggle, she added: "your hair's sticking up."
