(Note: Don't follow how Ella is currently making her potion, for it is wrong if you look to gain any house points from your character. ALB and I have already agreed that she's simply there as another figure, not to gain or lose house points, and as so her potion won't count and will be overlooked. Again, for future notice, please do not follow my current example when it comes to potion making.)

Going through her potion, Ella had many of the steps memorized. She had dedicated herself to her studies, and for whatever she could, didn't let a thing escape her. Ella was at the top of her class, and it was her duty to keep it that way. Not that she had wished ill on anyone below her, Ella had never seen it in a light such as that. Instead, Ella found the need for her to push her limits in order to make her time at Hogwarts well spent and worth it. If she were ever to forget an ingredient or a spell after her years, she'd feel ashamed for not having spent her time wisely during her school years.

She had just been allowing for her potion to stand for 10 minutes when a certain boy had caught her eye. Jett had held contact with her, captivating her with his eyes, like comets shooting across the peaceful night sky. No one would dare let a moment pass without taking their eyes off of them, the once in a lifetime experience. That was how Ella felt as she allowed her vision to be engulfed by the light against the night in Jett's eyes.

Just as well, a soft smile reached her glossy lips, and she had little control over her actions anymore. She had felt this overwhelming urge to stand and make her way over to Jett, though her mind thought better of it, and told her to resist. She did what she could to convince herself to stay as she was, perkily seated in her chair, and simply lifted her hand up, slowly, following the patterns of the wind. A small, silent wave was what she gave him, short and quiet like the wind's voice.

Ten minutes had been up, and Ella broke contact with Jett, finishing her potion.

Irene blinked her eyes. "Oh! Sorry erm, Ella, yes? Oh, yes, I'm not doing anyting efter class. Are you busy? We could do homework or something like that I suppose." Irene blushed. She hadn't meant to ignore Ella's question, she'd been caught up in fixing her own potion, but she'd ended up messing it up anyway. Too much Sneeze Wart she supposed. Ella seemed very nice, and she hoped to get to know her better later. She hadn't meant to be rude to Ella by ignoring her, and Irene hoped Ella would forgive her for not exactly paying attention while she was talking. She could tell that Ella had been paying strict attention to Irene herself when she'd been talking, and felt guilty now that she hadn't been listening very well in return.

By the time she was done preparing the rest of her ingredients, the liquid inside Theo’s cauldron had turned a pleasant shade of yellow. Checking the clock, she found two more minutes at her disposition, and spent she spent them by casting her eyes around the classroom, to see what she had missed. There was a rude Slytherin, nothing new in Theo’s life, always rather fun subjects to her pranks, however. And a rather gorgeous Ravenclaw, one that Theo had certainly seen before, and who often made her cheeks warm in a blush. She carried with so much grace that made even Theo want to start acting like a lady.

Her potion had become the murky yellow that the instructions so plainly stated. Theo cracked her knuckles and then reached for the lovage leaves, holding all three above the cauldron a moment before she would drop them, thus making them a part of the mixture at nearly the same moment, one lagging behind the other perhaps in milliseconds. Immediately as they touched the surface of the draught the leaves began denigrating, and white smoke rose above Theo’s cauldron. She let a smile play on her lips, couldn’t help but look just a little pleased with herself. The potion was far from brewed, of course, but even making it this far was oddly satisfying.

The smoke cleared soon enough, and Theo was adding the valerian springs and juniper berries to her mixture when Austen ran his mouth again. She frowned because really, her own brain was brilliant if anything. She shuddered at a fleeting thought, then shook her head and tapped at the surface of her desk. Perhaps Austen didn’t realize it or perhaps he was just an idiot after all, but by insulting that Slytherin kid, he was insulting all purebloods. Theo wondered how many were present in the classroom. And truly, for a professor to fall to the level of a stupid kid, it was quite unprofessional. Not much unlike an insult Theo might throw, but certainly not one that should be found on the lips of a grown man who had been claimed a professional by the educating system.

Theo picked up a slotted spoon to pick out the whitened berries; and nearly dropped them back in as the banging from the storeroom sounded again. She cast an alarmed glance to the wooden door to the room, then to Austen, then back to the greenish liquid of her potion. She scooped whatever was left of both the berries and the valerian, and put aside the same to trash them later. That seemed to be all, though Theo cast a final look over her notes before tapping her wand against the surface of the draught. She noted an error going through the ingredients again, and failing to remember one in her steps. What even was a Hinkypunk? Theo certainly didn’t have it among her own ingredients, she never even heard of smoke of this creature being used in potions! The name was vaguely familiar, as if she was supposed to have studied it before, but Theo was sure it was never mentioned in Potions class. Herbology was out too, but COMC perhaps? No, she was pretty sure it wasn’t COMC either. There were plenty of creatures used in potions, and Theo usually made it her business to know which ones they were.

“Professor!” her hand shot up in the air as the initial alarm at having missed an ingredient slowly turned to panic. “There is no step indicating the use of Hinkypunk smoke.”

Blaze, after hearing the Professor's comment clearly directed toward him, rolled up eyes. This professor was nothing more than some jackass 7th year taking over a class. He was worth nothing, as all Hufflepuffs were, and deserved to be thrown away.

"F**** this. Like hell do you even have any worth in this world. You can die and no one would care. I'm out of here."

Blaze stood up, flipping his desk in the process of him taking his feet off of it, and walked out of the classroom.

As Blaze kicked over his desk, Emma started with a jolt, and a hefty amount of her next ingredient dropped into her cauldron, and the brew began to bubble at an unnatural rate. Emma's eyes grew wide, as she stood up from her chair, looking up to the Professor, who's gaze was fixed elsewhere. "Uh, Professor!"

But as she watched an angry Slytherin storm out of the room, she realized she must have been much more absorbed than she should have been. An angry Slytherin was never good news, and it likely rot an equally angry Professor. That wouldn't help her at all. As she turned back to her cauldron, she could see the smoke beginning to rise, the bubbling grew louder and louder, until Emma could see it was going to blow.

"Look out!" She cried as she dove out of the way, just as the brew exploded in icky green slops all over the classroom. She being nearest to it, was covered in the muck, and the dark smoke began to cloud the entire room.

(Grades will be posted next post.)

Blaze threw his tantrum to the amusement of the professor. Austen laughed the whole time Blaze cussed and cursed Austen. Even when Blaze wish ill of him and his demised Austen was still a perky as ever, only making Blaze reaction worse, as he upturn his own desk. He paid that nor him no mind as Theodora pulled his attention.

The door to the stockroom gave another creak as if the full force of the castle was pulling at either end, ready to crack it in two. “Yes, Theodora,” he said with a pleased smile. Even that smile was a poor imitation of a genuine reaction he would have given, if someone had notice it sooner or did not ignore the obvious ruckus behind the stockroom door. “You are quite-“

He paused in midsentence hearing Emma yelled. He whirled around just in time to get a face full of green sludge in the face. Not only did it smother his face, but clung to the top half of his clothes. “Emma!” he said not in an angry way, but not kind either. It was more of the shock than anything else, that made him yell her name.

Jett was sitting calmly next to Claudia, telling her all about what subjects he did and did not like and listening to her do the same. His eyes, however, could not help but steal glances at Ella every so often. Besides that he did not look around the room much and ignored the outbursts of the other students.

That, perhaps, had been a mistake. He did not fully heed Emma's rushed warning and as her cauldron exploded green slime Jett was splattered with the foul smelling liquid. It stuck into his hair and dripped down his neck, making its gooey way into his robes. Fortunately he had not been facing Emma's table and only his back was hit. He cringed as he reached his hair to his hair and attempted to remove the globs of slime. How careless was Emma that she had let her potion fail so miserably? Jett shook his head in wonder.

Claudia was listening to Jett tell her about his likes and dislikes of subjects when she heard Emma yell, "Look Out" With that she ducked but not quick enough. Emma's Cauldron had exploded and its contents of green slime covered her back. She felt it in her hair dripping on her back as well. Its smell was horrid and very gross feeling but she couldn't help but giggle a little. It was a mistake after all. She looked over at Jett and noticed that his back was also covered and she shook her head. She then looked back at Emma and gave her a small smile so she wouldn't feel bad although she knew she probably would.

When she heard Austen announce her name, she made the fatal mistake of putting her hands on her hands, transferring a hefty portion of the green goop to her fingers. Having been called out, though, there was little chance of Emma dodging the bullet now, as she sat up and shook some of the muck off her hands.

Emma could hardly tell if Austen was upset or angry, but when she looked at Claudia, and saw her smile, Emma couldn't help but grin. "Sorry Professor!" She was sincere, but it may not have seemed so, as she laughed the nerves off directly after the apology. She looked back up at her table, scratching the back of her slimy head, as the smoke billowed up into the ceiling, spreading throughout the room like the plague.

Okay, maybe now wasn't the time to laugh, she considered guiltily, unsure that the blow of slime was the end of this mistake. The Professor surely would know, however, as Emma returned her gaze to him. "That doesn't look good..." Rook finally squirmed his way out of hiding, returning to Emma as though in response to her constricted anxiety, but he gave her one sniff before retreating into her book bag.
