Walking down the corridor, Emma had the Daily Prophet in one hand, and a Quidditch summer camp brochure in the other. Rook was with her of course, sleeping, in the hood of her Gryffindor robes. Emma was rather quiet today, though not unhappy, as her attention was focused on the Prophet. Specifically, she was reading the sports page. How exciting it must have been, being right there in the action. Seeker against seeker, Sharpe had to keep the snitch away from White so his team could score enough points to win. It was so rare, for a team to catch the snitch and not win. Emma wished she could have been there. Would they let her mother come to some of the games? Emma would quite like that. The start of a new season, and Emma had no idea who would take the cup this time around.

But while she wanted to watch players on the field, she also wanted to be one of those players. She glanced to the brochure in her right hand, and folded the Prophet under the crook of her arm so she could open it up and read about the summer camp. The Montrose Magpies and the Ministry hosted it. Kids came in, spent a few weeks training for Quidditch, and then at the end of the summer, positions were assigned, and they all played against each other. It all seemed like a blast! On top of that, but the kids at camp all got to go to every Montrose Magpie game too. It seemed like a dream come true, if her mother agreed to it of course.

Crouching behind the one-eyed, hump-backed statue of Gunhilda, Theo leaned against the cold stone surface, felt it rough and worn under her fingers. She’d been there for the past hour, trying to open the hidden passageway that she knew was there, because she’d seen Quentin on the statue and the stupid toad could not have just disappeared. Besides, if she got to open the thing, it would make a marvellous hiding place. Especially now, as Theo became aware of the approaching footsteps; and hoped dearly that it wasn’t the Ravenclaw she had left locked in the caretaker’s office, coming to find her-

It wasn’t. It was not in fact a Ravenclaw, but a Gryffindor; and not even a boy, but a girl. Theo watched the girl approach, peeking from behind the statue, spotting a colourful flier and something that looked suspiciously like the Daily Prophet. Glancing back to the statue, it took a moment of inner debate for Theo to decide whether it was worth having someone else know about such a precious discovery as was the secret passage or not. The girl was not even someone Theo knew; and truth be told, Theo was never a fan of Gryffindors. But Quentin was stuck down there and Theo certainly didn’t know how to get to him (the couple of spells she tried either failed or backfired, and kicking the statue only made her foot hurt). Perhaps the girl would have an idea or two of her own.

    “Psst. Psssst.”

Emma looked up as someone quietly hissed her way. She looked around, until spotting a pink haired Hufflepuff. Emma then proceeded to look up and down the corridor, making certain that it was her the Hufflepuff wanted, and not some other pondering wanderer she may not have noticed.

She was pretty sure she was the only one around though, so she approached the girl, and crouched down so she wouldn't be seen either. "Uh, hi." She greeted quietly, beaming at the girl. She couldn't have been hiding from a professor, now could she? She didn't seem to be that sort of student, from Emma's point of view.

“Hi,” Theo flashed a brilliant smile, revealing a row of teeth. “Listen, I need to open this,” she tapped the surface of the hump-backed statue, clicking her tongue as if she were highly displeased with her own inability to do so (or her own way, which would have included explosive potions, but would also be highly dangerous for Quentin). “Without blowing it up. My toad’s stuck down her.”

As if to prove her words, the said toad croaked from somewhere beneath the stone. The sound seemed to echo off the surface, making Theo all the more sure that there was a chamber or a passage beneath the statue. “Got any ideas, please?”
