Lucien smirked upon her correction, "I guess i need to brush up on my German then." His eyes held nothing but a hint of disinterest. Lucien disliked being wrong.

"Since you cleared that puzzle pretty quickly and with ease, how about we skip the third stage?" He held two hands out, one for the Rubix Cube and the other for her to take.

Lore gazed at him suspiciously, placing the Rubik's cube in one hand. She hesitated for a moment taking his other hand.

"The last challenge," said Lucien. The library was silent, perfect for no interruptions.

"Fraulein Schiffer, may I ask how good is your Occlumency?" Lucien asked rhetorically. His eyes focused on hers. This was the last hurdle for her. "I need you to turn it off." He kept his expression plain, not intending to frighten her into suspicion.

What was the best puzzle than one that was inside the mind itself?

Lore was already suspicious, and when Lucien mentioned Occlumency she froze. Exhaling a breath she replied, "Depends...", gazing back at him.

But, Lore wasn't one to turn her back on a challenge no, she was too stubborn for that. Although she had her suspicions she agreed, "Alright..." she said not too sure whether or not she was doing the right thing.

Lucien smiled as she hesitated. She was clever enough to be suspicious.

"Great," He smiled, coating it in as much reassuring warmth as possible.

"Breathe."

He had practised Leglimency on the many house-elves Eugene had, the maids, the many Muggles he used to see until he was confident enough.

Breathe

He sent the word into her mind as he himself entered it.

Lore felt rather unnerved, given the fact she was about to let someone into her head. She exhaled a breath trying to relax, letting Lucian take the lead.

"Close your eyes," his voice was soft, fading as a scene would create itself in her head.

There was the sound of running water, a sound of a cluck, a growl and the smell of grain.
The sky was bluer than the damp spring weather that Hogwarts were in. No longer were they surrounded by books, but by lush green grass.

Lucien's mind was projected in the form of himself, no longer wearing Hogwarts robes, just a plain white shirt and black slacks. Behind him was a river and a small boat.
He sat on a rock and waited for the girl's image to arrive. When she did, she would be dressed in farmers' garb, dungarees and a plaid shirt-Lucien even made a straw hat to compliment it.

He would give her a well-known puzzle first.

Lore did as she was told and slowly closed her eyes.

The serene landscape only took mere seconds for the world to form. The sun was warm against her skin as a gentle breeze lazily blew the grass around her. She blinked a few times looking down at her clothing. A scowl instantly crossed her Germanic features when she saw she was wearing a farmer get up with matching straw hat.

Her green eyes then found Lucien who was obviously dressed better than her. She walked towards him, assuming the entire get up was part of the challenge he had for her.

"Ok, vhats the challenge?" She asked

[i]His fingers were playing absent-mindedly with a long piece of grass as he watched the girl.

He was amused seeing her in the gear that he had prepared for her...It was unnecessary but why not set the scene?
He saw the look that she had cast at the clothes he was wearing, comparing them to hers. He wasn't the one playing the game was he?

He hopped off from the rock and strolled to the three items that sat in a row: a wolf, a chicken, and a medium-sized sack of grain.
Lucien's hand rested on the wolf's head as he ruffled it behind it's ears. It was obviously tame enough to not harm a human...if it wasn't...the game would be sure to end immediately.
His eyes focused on the German girl.

"I apologize if it looks nothing like the German countryside," Lucien smiled before carrying on,
"You are a farmer, wanting to transport these three items to the other side of the river by a boat that can only withstand the weight of two things, yourself included," He waved his other hand, driving her attention towards the tiny rowboat.
"However the if left alone with the grain, the chicken will eat it up, and if left alone with the chicken, the wolf shall eat the chicken" As he said this, the wolf cast a hungry glance towards its feathered friend who was picking at the stray grains that had fallen onto the ground.

"You have as long as you want" Lucien smiled as he made his way back to the rock, "When you are finished, I shall meet you on the other side." His eyes focused on hers "Also, i'm sorry to say magic can't be used...even to row the boat. Good Luck Fraulein Schiffer"

Lore's eyes fell on the items Lucien had laid out for her, "Am I going to start some sort of farm?" she said gesturing towards her outfit. Clearly she wasn't amused with the "costume".

When Lucien apologized that the scenery wasn't anything like the German countryside Lore couldn't help but make a smug smile, "You should have. It would have been nicer und how do you say...impressive?" she said jokingly.

Lore glanced at the river, as Lucien explained her task. The smug smile that she had earlier instantly disappeared by the time he had finished, "Seems easy..." she muttered. Her voice quivering slightly.

Lucien tilted his head slightly and thought for a moment. "You are free to." He smirked, not serious of course. If she did decide to, it would take time then unknowingly to her, her physical body would be slowly starving to death... He knew, however, that she was being sarcastic.

Lucien held out his hands, "I apologize, I've never seen Germany for myself," his tone was of mock sincerity. "But if it is as you say...far more impressive, I have yet to be convinced" He smiled as he flexed his fingers as they cast shadows onto the grass below. He did hold some form of pride for the scene he had created, even the warmth of the sun and the moist from the river felt almost too real...

As she replied, he smiled. He could have always pretended that that small waver was nothing but his imagination and he could give a word of encouragement. However, this was a puzzle that he had prepared for the Ravenclaw...he wouldn't interfere.

His eyes lay on her before smiling, "Try not to get wet, will you?"

The task seemed simple enough, but physically bringing the items from point A to point B would be rather difficult. Whatever it was, Lore decided to shrug off her uneasy feeling of the water and picked up the chicken, plopping the feathery bird into the boat. Pushing the small boat off the bank of the river she jumped in and began to row it to the other side. The chicken however decided to be a uncooperative passenger and began flailing around in the boat.

"Ich hasse Hühner...." she muttered under her breath as she tried to keep her mind off the rushing water below the boat.

Silently he watched, amused with her struggles with the feathered creature.

He had somehow forgotten to mention to her that as time went by, the current would grow in strength. He would leave her to find out by herself..that is if she didn't finish quickly.

Butterflies started to dissolved from the air, holding beautiful hues of blue and orange. Lucien frowned upon seeing a white one, one that he didn't intend to conjure. The small white wings soon burst into flames...all that remained was cinders. He returned his attention to his farmer.

Leaving the chicken on the other side, she went to get the wolf. As she began rowing back towards the chicken the current of the river seemed to get a bit stronger, "The hell...." she mumbled wondering why it was getting a little tougher to row to the other side.

Lucien watched her, she was clearly noticing the change in current.

He took it as his chance. A copy, a duplicate of himself emerged from his body. It...he was barely visible, if one saw him, they would only think that he was a shift in the air.

Lucien looked at it. He felt...empty. The partitioned piece of his mind soon strode away, in the direction opposite from the river. It soon faded away, delving into a separate part of the girl's mind...when she was vulnerable...open to him.

Lore reached the other side, grabbing the chicken and began pushing towards the other side. The current seemed to get stronger, she gritted her teeth irritably, practically tossing the chicken to the ground as she grabbed the sack of grain.

She turned her gaze over to Lucien who apparently looked like he was still over seeing the challenge. Something seemed off....very off abut him. She wasn't all too sure what it was but something told her to be on her guard. She rowed to the other side tossing the grain on to the ground by the wolf. She rowed back stepping off the boat to grab the chicken as she did the whole scenery seemed to shift.

"Odd..."she muttered as she picked up the chicken.

By the time she looked up the whole countryside scene changed to the last summer her family spent at Rhineland.

"Rheinland?" she asked out loud, "I thought you said you've never been to Germany." she said assuming Lucien was still there.

His response was...slow, distracted. He had had experience in partitioning his mind, the first time was painful and he had a danger of losing his other half and the times after that, it was with growing ease like a simple knife through butter. However, it was the feeling after that was strange...being in two places at once.

Lucien frowned slightly at her question, a frown too far for her to see. He looked round, studying the change in scenery...his other half must have come across a little memory. He inwardly cursed to himself at his stupidity, severing the ties the other part of his mind that was involved with the Leglimency. Lucien disliked it when he wasn't in full control, his other half was only meant to seek and register...nothing else.

He smiled towards the girl, his slight tension in his fingers showed his attempts at controlling himself. "It is true that i have never set foot there but there have been times when my guardian had brought pictures over from his visits." It was a half lie...Eugene only brought pictures of cities and the urban areas...rarely countrysides such as this...Rheinland.

"That...can't be true..."she muttered absently as she dropped the chicken, "Because that's where I fell into the river." her voice trailing off at the end. She turned her attention back to Lucien, "I do not know what you are planning...be it this is part of the challenge or not; it's not funny anymore.", a flare of annoyance was prominent in her tone.

As she spoke the sky began to darken and the summer scenery began to dwindle away as the wind began to pick up.

Now it was Lucien's turn for his expression to falter. He leaped off his rock seconds before it disappeared. His head darted round, a slight bewildered expression upon his features.

No, this wasn't his other half controlling the scene...it was her.

"Th-This isn't my doing!" His voice felt weak in the growing strength of the wind. His legs moved towards her and he grabbed her by her shoulders. She was clearly afraid...it was a bad memory.
His eyes focused on her green ones, "Calm down," his voice was stern, she was messing up with his masterpiece, he no longer felt the sun's warmth, "If you calm down, I can bring you out of here." If she was to abruptly leave, similar to a diver, she most likely wouldn't be back in one piece...well her mind anyway.

Lore stiffened as Lucien seized her shoulders, her eyes couldn't quite meet his at the current moment, "I..." she panicked as the water from the river began to rise.

Her shoulders shook, goosebumps shot up her arm, feeling the imminent sense of death hanging over her head. Something must have triggered this memory, she didn't know how, she was just too terrified to try and figure it out.

Lucien's words did little to calm her; just as she was about to reply, the water had already risen up to her thighs.

He would have always left her to drown in her own fears, but this was her mind he was in. If he needed permission to enter it with no troubles, he would need permission out.

After his many failed attempts to change the scenery, he finally gave up. On of his arms held her shoulder tightly.

Ascendio

The two were lifted into the air, free from the water. Lucien took it as his chance and cast a Glacius, freezing the water then a cushioning charm to save them from harm.
He let go of the girl. "What happened?" His voice was stern, demanding almost. It was something that happened that didn't follow his plans or expectations. It was no surprise that Lucien would feel...ruffled, he disliked when things happened out of the blue.

Lore panicked slightly as the water proceeded to rise; before she knew it Lucien had casted a spell to levitate them out of the water. By the time Lucien had froze the water over and place them safely on the ground, Lore still felt too petrified to speak. Every core in her body felt as stiff as the ice beneath her feet. The corner of her mouth twitched ever so slightly as she tried to form some sort of response.

Words seemed to fail her at this point. She bit her bottom lip feeling that she was on the verge of tears. For one she felt stupid allowing someone into her head...she felt in a way a loss of her own pride, second she couldn't believe that one single memory in her past could feel so terrifyingly real as if she was physically going to drown, and lastly she didn't want to stoop to the point of crying in front of Lucien. She already felt a loss of her own pride what more if she were to start crying.

Lucien's eyes pulled away from the girl to examine the now frozen landscape. It was cold, and he was lucky to have frozen it in time or his childhood fears would come back to haunt him.

If they died die here...what would have happened to them outside? Would their bodies have drowned too or would there be some damage on their mental state?

Lucien held out a hand towards the girl. "The puzzles end for today." He mustered up as much of a calm voice as possible along with his poker face. As he said it, he felt his partitioned mind rejoin with his. He felt himself relax ever so slightly. It was small but he managed to force a small smile.

As soon as she touched his hand, the landscape shifted. No longer was there the smell of fresh air, but the smell of musty aged books. They were back in the library in their dry robes.

He looked to the girl, questioningly.

"You're scared of water aren't you?" His voice was quiet as he searched her eyes.
