Sentramon Shack - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Sentramon Shack   Sentramon Shack - Page 2 EmptyMon Aug 06, 2012 2:09 pm

Adeon had spent the entire night out, training in the course he had build just deeper into the trees, and well camouflaged by spells. He came in with a double headed ax on his shoulder, finding that he'd need to clean it to get some of the rust off. His weapons were pretty good against the rain and humidity, and he build them a shelved wall and shed as well. But he rarely used the ax, and had it laying just at the edge of the wall, where if the wind picked up, it would be touched by the rain, and it was so underused that of course it would rust a bit.

Kicking the door, as Adeon was too lazy (and tired, not that he'd admit to that) to open it, he sauntered into his house with sweat dripping down his face and having soaked his shirt, which he had thrown over his shoulder to get the heavy shirt off his chest and to keep the ax comfortably on his shoulder. The morning was starting to peak, and within the next hour or two it would be noon. He didn't expect Carling to be awake, and figured that he could quietly make his way to his bedroom, shower, dress, clean his ax, and get back to work.

But he caught the sight of her wild red hair in the kitchen, and sighed heavily. So much for that plan.

Bread, peanut butter, beer and rotting cheese. That was all this guy had stocked in his kitchen. Could have been worse but... rotting cheese? Gross. She was tempted to even snatch up the beer, but it appeared to be the last one, and she didn't want to piss him off that badly.

So, she had gotten a slice of bread, and dipped it in the peanut butter, seeing as how she couldn't find a butter knife either. But as she had turned around, she realized she wished she had some kind of weapon.

There was Adeon, axe and all. Creepy much? Well, she did watch him kill a man last night, but still.

"You aren't planning on using that thing are you? You'd never get the blood-stains out of the carpet." But then she looked down to see hardwood floors, "Carpet, wood, whatever." She passed by him, returning to her couch and beginning the daunting task of getting the peanut butter to actually stick to the bread. Damn bread kept ripping and bending though.

Going threw his kitchen, taking the bread and peanut butter. Did this girl have any manners? But Adeon waited until Carling was sitting on the couch before he came up behind her, ax to her throat and a smile on his face. He was challenging his earlier statement, for good laughs, "Axes are best used on the throat. A clean cut. And yours it so smell, it would take hardly any effort at all..."

He laughed, pulling the ax back and starting to make his way toward his bedroom, "Nope, just needs the rust taken off." But then he turned around and stared at her, noticing something odd. The clothes in his room were clearly too small to be his, and he was pretty neat with his washing, but these were thrown on the ground. And Carling....he turned around and saw her in a long, oversized gray shirt. His gray shirt, and Adeon got suddenly mad, no longer joking around.

"Don't touch my shit."

And with that he closed the door to his bedroom, locking it loudly, and made his way over to his bathroom. He took a quick shower, and was out within 10 minutes. He cleaned the ax off of the rest, sitting it in the tub with a special liquid around it, and walked out his the room, back into his bedroom, and changed into a new set of clothes. He was without his usual cape and gloves, and instead had on a dark green t-shirt, and dark brown cargo pants.

Carling snorted once he had pulled the axe away from her neck, trying to play it off but failing miserably. She didn't like sharp things being pointed at her, and it wasn't like she knew this guy to begin with. After that, when he told her not to touch his stuff, she took him quite seriously, frowning into her peanut butter jar as she turned her back on the door as it locked.

After awhile, she finally gave up and just shoved the bread into her mouth, and returned the peanut butter to its proper place. Then, looking to the front door, she crossed over to it and stepped outside.

"What the hell?" She mumbled as she looked around at the trees outside. Where in the world was she, that should have been her thoughts the moment Adeon brought her here. It was freezing outside, but she was too stubborn to think that one through. She quietly closed the door, and stepped out into the snow, looking around for any recognizable landmark. Not like that would help, Carling was purely a city girl. She might have gone camping once or twice as a kid, but she'd hated it, and therefore remembered little of it.

Why exactly was she here to begin with? Adeon had gone through the trouble of helping her, when he could have just left her, or finished her off himself. So what did he want from her? She may have given it more thought, but she had busied herself with transitioning between her feet, her toes freezing against the snow.

Adeon walked out of his room, empty handed, and casually made his way to the kitchen and grabbing his beer. He had some more out back, in a freezer he kept locked, but he wasn't going to touch that supply now. He took off the cap with a flick of his thumb, and although he didn't appear to be paying any mind to it, he did notice Carling's disappearance.

He made his way over to the couch, flipped the bed back into the couch so that he could sit on it, and plopped down, taking a sip of his beer. He knew that is her plan was to run, she wouldn't make it far, not without freezing. She could apparate, but her skills were clearly lacking. So Adeon had no worries about he leaving. If she wasn't back in an hour, then he'd look for her, just before frost bite could set in.

Well, if wanted something from her, she sure as hell wouldn't give it. She kept going through the snow, bare foot and all as she crossed her arms and shivered. Damn snow. Damn Adeon. Damn her for not putting her shoes back on!

She figured if she kept walking towards the sunlight, she'd find her way out of here eventually. She just happened to glance down, catch a suspicious glint of metal... "Shit!" Carling yelped, falling backwards on her ass, just before she nearly stepped on a bear trap.

Great. Now she had snow up her... well, yeah. "Who the hell is this guy?" She muttered as she glared back towards the shack. Maybe just walking away wasn't the safest option on the list.

Adeon continued to sit on the couch, drinking his beer, and looked over his shoulder, toward the window in the kitchen. The sun was bright, but not coming in directly through the window, as the window faced west. He faced forward again and at the single, small clock on the far left of the wall. It had been 30 minutes.

"30 more to go..." he said as he took another sip of his beer, lazily waiting for Carling to come back or scream before he'd get up.

How many traps could he have set up? He probably just covered the clearing. Carling could deal with that. She got back to her feet, stepping around the bear trap and stepping lightly as she went onward, her destination being the nearest tree. From there, she'd figure out where to go next.

She found a couple more bear traps, and a tripwire, but nothing too serious, and all were avoidable. Of course, she wasn't taking into consideration any magical traps. The fact that nothing was happening only made her nervous. She glanced back at the shack occasionally, just to see how far she'd gotten, and to see if she was being pursued or not.

When she finally reached the comfort of the tree bark, she smirked, standing on a large tree root as she rubbed down her freezing toes real quick. Then, she spotted another tree for her next destination, and on she went. She yelped, again, jumping out of the way as the ground next to her suddenly blew up. Cursing like a sailor, she stood there for a moment before continuing onward.

By the time she got to the next tree, she'd already dodged a flying log, some knives that shot out, and a cage that came falling down from above. But she was making progress. She could see the trees beginning to thin out, not much farther to go.

One hour.

Adeon stood up, taking his time to stretch his arms over his head. He walked into his bedroom and threw on some boots and his jacket, and grabbed his wand. Slowly, ever so slowly, he walked to the door and opened it, looking lazily around the heavy blanket of snow. And long behold, he spotted that off put red that always was the first thing to catch his attention. Carling hadn't made it too far, but farther then any muggle would, and she appeared unharmed, which was a plus.

Using a projecting spell, Adeon made is voice loud across the clearing. "Done yet? Or do you want to keep trying?"

Carl whirled around, spotting Adeon outside the shack. Pfft. She was far from done! He was acting like she couldn't do this. Ha. She'd prove him wrong. She didn't even bother answering him. She stepped out into the snow again, her toes starting to turn blue by now.

The next tree she chose wasn't too far, but were her toes starting to go numb?

PostSubject: Re: Sentramon Shack   Sentramon Shack - Page 2 EmptyMon Aug 06, 2012 10:57 pm

(next post will be longer too, because this one was a bit difficult to get any more extensive then I had XP)

Adeon rolled his eyes at the girl and her idiotic moves. She had no idea what the hour was, and no idea how long it took to get frost bite in this kind of weather. Her fingernails were probably falling off and starting to turn purple. That was something Adeon didn't know how to fix, and it she happened to get it, he wouldn't even try. Her fault for being and idiot.

Easily and quickly, Adeon made his way over to Carling without a trouble. No traps had snapped in his direction, nor did any spells fly toward him. And the odd thing was that Adeon didn't seem to be making any big or snaking moves. It was a bit suspicious, because with all of the traps set, there was no way he'd have made it so easy that all you had to do was walk diagonally. But that's what he made it appear to be.

He kept a good two yards distance once he reached Carling, allowing her to keep going if she wanted, or plea uncle, and he'd take her back to the cabin. It was her choice, but Adeon felt that he knew her answer already. Carling seemed like a determined girl, and he liked that about her. She wasn't cruel about it, either, but more playful. Adeon didn't feel the need to guard himself around the girl, which was unusual. It was unusual enough for him to even see a person more then once, let alone hold the interactions that he did with Carling. It was a surprise to him, but he wouldn't think about it too much. He wasn't that kind of guy.

No words left Adeon's mouth as he waiting and watched in silence. There was an answer to this whole situation. In fact, there were many, but some should have been favored more then others.

Carling frowned as he approached with ease, and before she took another step, she gave him a tentative glance. It seemed unlikely, but perhaps his expressions could give some hints and clues?

"E-enjoying yourself?"
She asked. Great, now her teeth were chattering. Seeing as how she wasn't going to get any reactions out of him. She continued onward, stepping lightly and looking all directions.

Why he didn't even bother with her was a good question. Either he was keeping her against her will, or was really helping her- in which case, he would have already helped her back home. Neither seemed the case. What exactly did he want? Or... not want? If she just knew that much, she could figure out.. well, something, anything. He was too damn confusing.

She had been distracted enough to nearly get hit by another trap, and now, she had fallen back down on her butt again. She groaned in irritation, "Who needs so many damn traps?!"

Adeon smirked and walked over to Carling, throwing her straight up into the air and then catching her on his back. She was probably getting frost bite at this point, and would be lucky if she wasn't the snow didn't seem too bad, it being just after noon, but it was thick, and underneath the warmth of the sun was blocked out by the upper layers, keeping all of the icy feeling inside.

"A professional assassin, that's who."

He started to make his way toward his house, and looked down to where he hand been hold Carling's legs. He inspected her toes to see if she had developed frost bite, taking note that she had left her shoes. Another dumb move, because there was so much use out of the shoes, he could track her down in seconds. As well as leaving her clothes behind.

Carling wasn't appearing to be very intelligent in Adeon's eyes at the moment.

But her toes seemed fine. Pale, as expected, but at least they weren't people. If she had kept at it, she'd have either been caught in a trap and died, or she'd have terrible hypothermia and frost bite that she might as well have wanted to die. Adeon could imagine Carling favoring a muggle hospital over a wizarding one, and those muggles are all for getting rid of entire limbs. Adeon suspected that they just wanted to chop someone up, legally.

"Huh, hey!" She yelped as she was lifted into the air and onto his back. She frowned pulling the ends of her shirt farther down so nothing would show. Geez. He was enjoying himself. Laughing at Carl's more like it.

Assassin? Well, that made sense.

She rested her chin on her hand, he elbow resting against his back, "So if you told me where we are, you'd have to kill me right?" She couldn't resist a snicker- oh how she loved movies and their corny lines. Adeon did seem awfully unrealistic. Maybe he was just a part of her imagination- though, as she glanced up at the back of his head, she decided she wouldn't have thought him up. He was far too serious.

To prove her point, she started poking him randomly in the back, a pouting expression written across her face.

"No, it's not like you'll ever make it back here. Or maybe you'll never leave here. Whatever comes first, duckling."

He continued walking through the snow with ease, Carling on his back and his gloved hands wrapped around her knees. She started poking at his back, and he ignored it for a few minutes. He thought she'd get bored and quit since he was showing little to no reaction. But, alas, she did not, and so he decided to make the journey not so smooth.

He started to add a bit of a jump to his step, giving Carling a rocky ride. She was light, and Adeon felt that she wasn't much of a burden on his back, and could be just as agile as he normally was, without the extra weight. But, with a smirk on his face, he thought to himself, maybe it would be a good test?

Left and right, Adeon started making quick turns, making his way into the weapons he left on the floor, activating them and dodging left and right, ducking (keeping mind to Carling's added height), and overall enjoying himself at the challenge, even though it wasn't much of one. He was sure Carling wouldn't be very pleased with his actions, either, but he wasn't just about to let her get out of this easily. She caused him enough trouble by going out to get her, and he had the opportunity for pay back, so he was going to take it with a smile on his face.

"Enjoying yourself back there? I hope you weren't expecting a carriage ride, with all that impatient tapping."

Never leave? Carling paused for a moment as she pondered on the statement. Perhaps he was implying that he'd finish her off at some point, or he was a creeper who was going to keep her hostage forever. What if she left the stove on at home? Heh. Who was she kidding? Carling never cooked. Still, all her loot was back at Cazz's house, and if that got Cazz in trouble, it would be Carl's fault.

But then Carling yelped as Adeon had a sudden change of pace, setting off traps and being a crazy flippin' lunatic. "What the hell are you doing?" 'Psycho.' She grabbed hold of his shirt, trying to find a good grip less he drop her, and she buried her face so none of the traps would hit her.

"I wasn't tapping impatiently, I was poking incessantly." She corrected with a matter-of-fact tone. Despite her irritation though, she had ceased her poking rampage.

"Synonyms, really, in the given situation. You were poking me, that's all that matters," he stopped the jumping and the brash movements, now back to walking in a perfectly clear line, back toward his house. Cabin, even he wasn't sure what to call it. All that he really used to as was a place to go when he needed rest or to get away. When he didn't want to be in public or on the job, he found himself coming here. Even before he built the now home, he would come back to the town of Gloucestershire. It was quaint, and there was no work for him here. Nor was there anyone here that would know who he is or what he does. Not that many know in the first place.

That's when he decided to make himself a place here. He didn't own the land, but there wasn't a need to. No one would find the place, and no one would be bothered by the house he had there. But, just in case, he had plenty of spells to hide and push people away from where he was hidden. He didn't want anyone looking for him, finding him, or causing him any trouble. It was the purpose of the home in the first place, and would otherwise be useless.

Adeon now stood in front of his door, unlocking it and using his wand, subtly, to disarm a spell he had, just in case someone ever got as far as his door. He didn't trust anyone to, and he often forgot about the spell until it was too late himself, but Adeon learned that it was better to be overly cautious then not at all. There were plenty of people who wanted revenge on him for killing someone they knew, and there were plenty who knew of his work and didn't want to be killed themselves. But there were others, too, who had a goal of reaching the same height as Adeon in the same career. And for some reason, that meant that he needed to be killed, which made no sense to him at all because it would bring them nothing, but hey. It was there fault for watching too many movies.

With Carling on his back, he walked over to the couch, no longer a bed, and dropped her down on it. He continued to walk around, and ended up walking through the kitchen, taking out a piece of bread and toasting it before slapping some peanut butter on it with a knife that was too large for the job. He took the toast and offered it to Carling, as he could feel her stomach on his back and felt it rumbling, whether she had noticed or not, and he knew then that she hadn't eaten. After throwing up, she'd probably need some food in her. And Adeon needed her to stay. Well, not needed. But he wanted to find out just what she was doing there.

"Probably the best thing to eat after puking last night."

Sentramon Shack - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Sentramon Shack   Sentramon Shack - Page 2 EmptyThu Aug 09, 2012 2:15 am

(Srry for the wait. I was at a friend's house.)

Surprisingly, she did not become defiant as she was returned to the couch, and did not refuse the toast or complain about it. She did, however, turn a slight glare on him at the mention of her little problem last night. It was probably hunger that wasn't making her crabby though, so she took a massive bite, getting comfortable on the couch now that she was eating. She even was generous enough to try and prevent crumbs getting on the couch. Course maybe he didn't care, but still, she'd rather not find more reasons to anger him like she did earlier.

"You know," Carling started after swallowing another huge bite, "After taking that bullet, I feel like a soldier or something. Warrior. Something." She licked some peanut butter off her hand as she tried to find the right word. The thought made her laugh, but really, she was glad the shirt she was wearing covered the stitches. She really didn't want to see it.

It didn't take long for the starving redhead to finish off her toast, more cheerful now that her tummy wasn't entirely empty. Then, as she looked at the coffee table, she spotted her wand, plus the one she had stolen from the dead man- his name was now escaping her- and scooped them up, depositing them into her shirt, out of sight, and out of mind.

"Hey." She said as she turned to look over the couch at him, "Can I ask you something?" She paused a moment, waiting for some confirmation, before she said, "How come you didn't kill that man with one of them spells of yours? Isn't that kinda what you people do?"

She knew why she didn't use her wand, but it was Adeon that she was curious about. She didn't because she had no need, and regrettably, she had gotten a bit rusty because of it. Him... she wasn't sure. She'd seen him go off to one of those magic places once before- Diagon Alley was it?- so that ruled out that he worked outside of the wizarding world. Besides, she'd met him in Knockturn Alley. He was after wizards, not muggles. Well, as far as she knew.

(YOU HAVE BEEN DENIED.)

He watched her, very consciously, eating. She finished the toast quickly, and was in a better mood within seconds it seemed. She had thrown up probably everything that was in her stomach, and with the lack of nourishment she had just become a grump. He originally expected Carling to snap. Explain how she didn't want to be here, and how she wanted to go home. But she didn't say a thing. Instead, the couch was set with Carling pressed into it, her silence something new to Adeon.

Until she started talking about super heros. He wasn't about to burst her bubble, but Adeon was just never much for the super hero thought. They were never ordinary people, and the idea was impossible and couldn't be achieved. There were a few heros, like Batman, but what Adeon hated the most about superheros is how they were cowardly. They couldn't face someone without hiding their face. And Adeon did it, too. That was probably why he hated it the most.

He'd never admit to feeling weak, for hiding his identity. He admired those who were strong and gave themselves a face, the people who walked the streets without a care, because their face was their face. Adeon didn't want to claim his face, because he had more to like for then murdering, and he didn't want his face to make his life.

The question of Carling's reached his ears, asking if she could ask him something. It was the perfect time to make a deal, and ask the questions that he had wanted the answers to himself. "I'll only answer if you answer my question."

He gave little wait before continuing, only allowing for Carling to ask her question, before he asked his own, "What were you doing at Buccichi's, and how do you know him?"

"Well I was getting him and his men off my back." She said, hardly hesitating to provide an answer. "One of his lackeys, Butch, he threatened me, told me I owed him something. I was going to convince his boss to tell him different." She said as she started tying her shoes back onto her feet.

"So, I didn't really know him. I just knew the guy who worked for him." She did not, however, feel that it was necessary to say that Butch had once been her friend. The guy had helped her a lot when she was first starting out in the business. He even got her out of a few tight spots that otherwise, she would have been unable to get out of herself. Sure, Butch was a muggle, but wizard people always seemed to think muggles as weak. They couldn't wave around a stick at their enemies, but muggles had guns, and some of them weren't that stupid.

"And what, you worked with these men?" That would explain the earlier incident, where he had first met the girl. She had given him the book, and he still had it as well as the other which he had stolen. So now he had two. But she was searching for the guy, and was reluctant at first to give him anything, or even to talk to him. Adeon was suspicious of her relations to the gang, even though he wouldn't do anything about it. Adeon's job was to kill the target's that he was given. Carling wasn't one of them, so he didn't care much about who she associated with. Or so he told himself.

He didn't hold much against people, because Adeon usually didn't care. He was simply to do the job he was given. He didn't care if they were 'good' or 'bad', he had no opinion of them because they were either paying him or being killed by him. They were a job, and nothing more. But, for some reason, Adeon wanted to know why Carling appeared to be catching herself up in a place that mixed with Adeon's job. Any one person that he came in contact with, he knew was trouble in some form. No innocent person would ever be found where he was. So why was she?

"First off, there is nomy people, Second of all, 'my people' kill people. Doesn't matter how, they just do it to get the job done. Or the better of us do, anyway. Some form attachments. Some go after what they consider the bad guy. The real job is killing for a client, and it shouldn't matter who you're killing or who asks you to kill them. You just do it and do it right. Most guys messed that up."

He didn't mean to brag. Or maybe he did. Adeon had an air of confidence in himself, but it was a bit more prideful. He was prideful in the work that he did because he knew he did a good job of it. Adeon understood that he deserved to be proud, and wasn't wrongfully doing so. He worked hard at his job, and he believed that gave him permission to be confident. Otherwise, he wouldn't be flaunting it.

But by 'his people' she hadn't meant assassins like he had assumed. No, she was talking about wizards in general. Herself, excluded, of course. She said nothing of it, however, seeing as how his first comment had struck a nerve.

"Don't insult me. I don't work for anybody. Got it?" She said as she looked over at him, and eyebrow raised.

Then, settling back down, she nestled herself back into a comfy spot in the couch and said, "Call me a bit of a.... an entrepreneur. I see opportunity; I take it." She said with a smirk, utterly amused by her vague description.

Adeon was starting to question the girl. Seriously question her. Did she go to Hogwarts, or did she just attend a muggle school? She didn’t seem to know magic very well, so maybe she just attended a muggle school, perhaps being muggleborn and wanting nothing to do with magic. Or did she even do that, because you learn about what an entrepreneur is in the muggle realm, it was practically required. Unless she was almish, but he couldn’t picture her as amish. Not with those clothes and that confidence. Almish women don’t speak with authority the way Carling did.

“If you’re an entrepreneur, then what business do you own? I think you’re confused in your definition. You don’t employ others, from what I can tell you only employ yourself, if you don’t work under those men as you say.”

He chuckled a bit to himself, waiting to see what Carling’s reaction would be. Probably not a good one, but he enjoyed teasing her, and it was kind of fun to rile her up. He rarely had the company to joke around with, “Seizing the opportunity isn’t a direct association with entrepreneurship. Let’s call it a poor interpretation, on your part.”

"Yeah, well..." She paused thinking it over again and her face growing red as she pulled her feet up onto the couch. With a frown she shot a look at him, "Well who asked you?" It wasn't like his opinion mattered. Carling thought her interpretation was plenty good. Amusing, at that.

"Was there anything else you wanted to ask, Nosy?" She added, unable to resist another glare, though its effect was quite minimal. She was too tired to be too annoyed. Not expecting Adeon to actually have any more questions, she stood up, turning away for a moment to make sure she had all the belongings that actually mattered. Shoes, check, wand, check, stolen wand, check... she was probably going to chuck the damn thing, didn't need some big wigs tracking her down with it or something.

"Where's my gun?" She asked abruptly as she turned to him again, a frown on her face once again.

(In case you wanted to finish this, I can't remember. I forgot about this xD)
